Disaster Recovery Pros

Adjusters International MBC joined the Grand County Builders Association (GCBA) located in the Rocky Mountains in Granby, Colorado.

The GCBA “is an advocate for the building industry. We are a collective voice to be heard in the political area, a voice in the environmental arena and most importantly, a voice in our community[1].” Builders and associates are encouraged to become members and be put on a preferred list, as the GCBA membership requirements entail following a code of ethics that consumers can trust. As a nonprofit organization, the benefits of membership include but are not limited to “education and professional development, community engagement, networking opportunities, building department and government relations,” and more.

In October of 2020, the Troublesome Fire started in the center of the Rocky Mountains and became “one of the most destructive wildfires in Colorado history[2].” The GCBA acted swiftly, hosting Wildfire Recovery Workshops for property owners that were affected. AI-MBC was also at the forefront of disaster recovery efforts for the Troublesome Fire. The AI-MBC team of licensed public adjusters helped property owners prepare, estimate, negotiate, and settle their property damage insurance claims for the settlement they deserved.

“Joining the GCBA has allowed our team of public adjusters to work alongside the association and draw from a network of building professionals such as general contractors, architects, engineers, tradesmen, and utility companies for to refer high quality, licensed professionals to our clients.” said Scott deLuise, President and CEO, CCIM, CPPA, SPPA.

AI-MBC’s Vice President, Dan Jewell, and Executive Adjuster, Michael Stoycheff, will be presenting at the GCBA meeting on Thursday, October 21st at 5:00 pm, at the River Run Resort in Grand Lake Colorado. The presentation will focus on industry challenges like price increases, product limitations, the East Troublesome fire recovery efforts as well as lessons learned from insurance and how to better prepare for a loss in case of a disaster.
